Announcement!

In case anyone hasn't heard...
This is where I'll be spending the next 18ish months of my life:

Quito, Ecuador! I've been called to the Ecuador Quito Mission, and I leave on September 22. Craziness! I'll enter the MTC two weeks before I turn 21. Honestly, I thought I'd have another month before I left, but I guess the Lord had another idea...
Man, a mission is so much to think about! It's scary at times, but really exciting too.  There's a lot of preparation that goes into it. Getting shots, applying for a passport (which came over the weekend!) and another exciting thing:

This is at the Ogden Temple after my endowment. I'm kinda bummed the pictures all turned out blurry. I tried to fix this one up a bit... It's a little better than it was.  Going through the temple was a really neat experience, I loved it!  I haven't had a chance to go back yet, but hopefully in the next couple days I'll be able to!

These are just a few of the things I've done in preparation so far. There's definitely a lot to go, but there's time. Even though it's going fast! It's already been almost a month since I got my call! Just about 10 weeks now until I leave.  That's a whole 7 weeks after this guy leaves:

He's headed to Eugene, Oregon! He'll be a great missionary! Dev and I have been best friends since middle school, and it's been pretty awesome to be "future missionaries" together! We went to Walmart the other day and ran into a couple different people we know from the theater, and they all said "Hey, it's the two missionaries!"  It's been fun to be entering this stage together! And good to have someone to talk to about it who is in the middle of the same process as I am right now. I'm in Annie at the Heritage Theatre, and it opens just a couple weeks after he leaves, so at least I'll have something to keep me busy! Actually, so busy that I'll most likely be doing a performance two days before I leave. Then there will be two more after I'm gone... Guess it's a good thing I'm playing a fairly small part! It kinda stresses me out that I'm leaving before the show even ends... But like I said, at least I'll be busy right up until I leave.
Well... That's all for now. We just got back from a Norman Family Reunion in Lava Hot Springs, so I'll post some pictures once I upload them!

Lately...

Well I've been done with school for about a month now. Wahoo! I moved home and found a job at Old Grist Mill in Brigham. I've been working there during the lunch rush most days.  I auditioned for a show last week but didn't get in. It was a good experience to audition though. I'm hoping to do another one soon. It's been nearly a year since this:
I haven't gone that long without doing a show since the 6th grade. Yikes. So needless to say, I'm hoping to fit one in before some bigger and better adventures come along.

This past week was spent on vacation with my family in MAUI!! We had a blast, got some sun, made some great memories, and took literally hundreds of pictures. Here are just a few of the many:

And the biggest news is, I'm working on my mission papers!  I can turn them in in just a few weeks, and have most of the parts filled out. I should have a call by mid-June.  It's kinda scary... But pretty exciting!

Dress Ups!

Bailee and Sadie decided to play Princess Dress Ups on Saturday.  Katey was babysitting them while I was at home this weekend and they found mine and Becca's dance dresses and talked the rest of us into playing dress up with them.  They loved every minute of it, and we had fun taking pictures and seeing how excited they were! I think Bailee had every dress on at least once! She loved it!

They talked Katey, Hailey, and I into putting the dresses on with them.

This is my favorite, look how excited Bailee looks to be showing off her pretty pink dress to Hailey!

I'm sure my mom will kill me for posting this, but they even talked her into putting one on for half a second!

So fun!

Pre-Easter Festivities

P.S. This is my first time adding pictures to a post, so I'm not quite sure how to do it...

Dying Easter Eggs inspired me to want to decorate a cake, so that was Saturday's adventure. We made Kyle join us. He said he was excited to help decorate it, but I'm not so sure...

I had a bit of a fiasco while mixing up the icing.

Kyle and Hailey act like brother and sister sometimes.

"Do you know what a swirly is Hailey? Do ya??"

We got a little tired of decorating it after about two hours, so we decided not to frost the whole thing...

The finished product!  I think this is how Kyle honestly felt about us making him decorate a cake with us.

 But it was still fun!

Counting Down

There are about five weeks left of this semester. Thank goodness! I'm losing any and all motivation to keep up with my school work and my job. And for some reason, counting the weeks remaining at least once a week seems to make me feel better.. Or maybe worse. But I just keep doing it. Five weeks. That's do-able, right? As long as I don't think too hard about finals week  yet.

In other news, I found out this week I was not accepted to Weber State's nursing program, but surprisingly, I think I wanted the answer to be no. I'm not sure why, but I'm kind of starting to come up with a decision.  I think I know what I want to do next, but I still need to figure out if it's the right thing.  So for now... I'm not going to shout it to the world. AKA probably nobody, since nobody sees this blog... Anyway, I'll update with my decision when it's been made... Which probably won't be in the immediate future.

The Beginning

So I'm just trying to figure out this whole blogging thing. Hopefully I'll get the hang of it. I've had just a slight obsession with reading other people's blogs lately, but just kept thinking that I have nothing exciting enough in my life to blog about. But I've decided to make a resolution (maybe a little too late to be a "New Year's Resolution") to make my life exciting enough to have things I will want to share with people. So, here goes.... as soon as I get the hang of this whole thing.
